Belgian national hockey team looks to improve in India

10:46 06/01/2014

The men’s national grass hockey team will be striving to move up a few spots in world ranking later this week as compete in the Hockey World League Final in New Delhi, India.

From January 10-18, the team will take to the field at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium to take on the other top seven teams in the world.

The tournament of the world’s top eight teams is played-out like a condensed version of the World Cup. The inaugural event will see the teams compete for a chance to improve their overall international ranking. Belgium, currently ranked fifth in the world, will enter the tournament with only four new players, making this an experienced squad with high expectations.

The team knows that with only the top eight teams competing, no game will be easy and should not be taken lightly.

Belgium will begin their quest Friday when they take on Australia.
