Belgian housing survey seeks your views on renovation and construction

14:38 19/10/2015

A new nationwide housing survey launched this week aims to find out what the Belgian public's attitude is towards renovations, new builds, home loans and tax.

The study aims to anticipate future demand for construction projects and also identify the problems that people are facing getting their idea off the ground: whether it be bureaucracy, money problems or struggling to find a good builder.

The seven-question survey is available in French and Dutch and asks respondents whether they think house prices in Belgium will go up, down or remain stable in the next five years.

It also asks whether the current economic and fiscal climate has led them to postpone a project - and what measures the government should be taking to boost the sector.

One respondent will receive a €5,000 cheque towards their construction or renovation project.

The survey can be found here in French and in Dutch.

It has been organised by the Belgian federation of construction workers, which has 4,500 members, and the findings will be presented at the Batibouw show on 25 February next year.
