15:20 28/06/2016

Erik Reynaerts, president and founder of 1895, the official fan club of the Red Devils, has died of a heart attack at the age of 50, report various Belgian media. The founder of 1895 collapsed in his Toulouse hotel shortly after witnessing Belgium's 4-0 win against Hungary. Reynaerts was quickly transferred to hospital, where he died yesterday.

The fan club 1895 was established in 2011 through a collaboration between the National Supporters Federation NSF and its French-language counterpart FNS. As chairman of the NSF, Reynaerts was appointed leader of the fan club by the Royal Belgian Football Association. Today, 1895 has nearly 25,000 members.
