Belgian Citizenship
Question
We're non-EU, about to hit 7 years as residents here, and are considering getting Belgian citizenship. We're Australian and won't lose our Australian citizenship on doing so. Just wondering before we take the plunge if there are any (adverse) factors to consider? (Compulsory voting isn't an issue, same in Oz). Thanks!

I would have thought that the advantages of being full EU citizens outweigh any negative aspects of being Belgian.

I can't advise on what will happen to your Ozzieness, and you might want to look at the consequences of your new nationality on any kids you may already have, or might have in the future.
