BBC's Les Misérables film shoot comes to Huy

19:04 22/03/2018

The BBC will be in the old village of Huy next week filming scenes for a new TV adaptation of Victor Hugo's Les Misérables.

Film crews have descended on the village already to prepare for two full nights of filming on 27 March (17.00-3.00) and 28 March (19.30 until dawn).

Public street lighting will be switched off during the shoot and residents are being asked to keep curtains closed. Guns and bayonets will feature in the filming but no shots will be fired.

Directed by Tom Shankland, the six-part series is a non-musical adaptation of the French classic by award-winning screenwriter Andrew Davies, starring British actors Dominic West, David Oyelowo and Lily Collins.

Other filming locations in Belgium later this year include Enghien, Brussels, Namur and Limburg province. The drama will also be filmed in northern France.
