Basketball player walks again, half a year after Brussels attacks
The photo of former professional basketball player Sebastien Bellin, which became one of the iconic images of the 22 March terror attack at Brussels Airport, shows the severely injured Bellin lying on the floor of the departure hall. Now, nearly half a year later, he can walk again, writes De Standaard.
The Belgian-Brazilian athlete was at a check-in counter at Brussels Airport on 22 March when one of the bombs exploded nearby, seriously injuring his hip and legs.
Bellin fought to recover and is finally able to walk again, according to a video posted on Facebook by his friend and ex-basketball player, Pieter Loridon.
"I want to share with you all what this guy's capable of today! It is the beginning of his new life with new plans. Inspired by what he has been through," wrote Loridon.
