Bailliff

Question

I have a flatmate who hasn't paid a fine and saw a letter he received from the ministre de justice. They will come today or tomorrow to take stuff from our apartment. He owns very little, most of the stuff is mine. What can I do to prevent the bailliffs from taking my things?

J

1st visit is normally just to assess what is of value.
They cannot legally seize stuff that is not his.
.
Be there so they can get in, otherwise they may break the door down. (apparently)
.
Best course of action would be for your flatmate to ring them up tomorrow and make a payment.
Failing that, ring them yourself, and ask what's going to happen and what you rights are.
