asbestos
Hi,
We live in a rented property and on our bedroom floor around the chimney where the fireplace used to be there is what looks to me to be asbestos tiling which is presently covered by a mat. I am woried that this may have an adverse effect on our health especially as we have baby on a way who will be sleeping in teh room with us. Does anyone know a good company that would come take a look and identify it and remove it safely if necessary?

Don't know who, but if it is asbestos and it is deteriorating, then death is 10 to 40 years off yet.
A quick google suggests it is NOT easy to identify, and no level of exposure is safe.
