Armed man in Uccle upset about parking ticket

11:04 13/09/2012

A man waving a gun from his balcony in Rue Vanderkindere in Uccle, a suburb of Brussels, was overpowered by the special units of the Federal Police (CGSU) on Wednesday after several hours of negotiations. The man was on his first-floor balcony when he saw a parking attendant writing up a ticket for his vehicle and threatened him with his gun. The attendant alerted the police immediately, and four police officers arrived on the scene. When the man shot three times in their direction, a safety zone was established. During the negotiations he shot again, but made no injuries. The CGSU could enter the building through the back to disarm and arrest the man.
