Are you allowed to run/jog in Cimitiere d'Ixelles? (Brussels)

Question

Is it allowed or is there a 'no sports' rule that I should be aware of?

Mark L-W

No idea but many might feel it disrespectful.

Best to ask them about the rule but I would not think that this is the place for a run. People might react against that activity in such a place.

I would find running in a cemetery a bit odd personally. Why not just go down the road a bit to the Bois de la Cambre, or a tiny bit further to the forest?

The cemeteries in Brussels are official tourist spots and people are encouraged to visit and even picnic so I can't imagine that a little jogging would be a problem. It certainly won't upset the inhabitants. Obviously if a burial were going on, one might slow down to a walk but really, what is offensive about a little individual jogging?

Why is every assuming run? It says 'sport'why would one wish to disturb people visiting a place like this for quiet contemplation by playing any sort of sport? It's hardly like there is a shortage or better places to do this in Brussels is it?

Everyone is assuming it's about running because the question is titled "Are you allowed to run/jog in Cimitiere d'Ixelles? "
