Anti-Semitic graffiti on Brussels synagogue

The Beth Hillel synagogue in the Brussels commune of Forest was defaced on Monday night, with the words “A mort les juif [sic] Boum” (“Death to Jews – boom”) daubed on the front. The authorities of the liberal synagogue, who lodged a formal complaint with the police and the commune, were told of the defacement by neighbours. The words have since been scrubbed off. While saddened by these latest events, the authorities of the synagogue insist that they have a very good relationship with their neighbourhood and that, as always, “dialogue is the answer”.
