Question

Where can you complain about false/misleading advertising in Belgium?

Answer
From the archives Aug 22, 2011 10:43

Website: www.jepbelgium.be

Website language: Dutch and French

Main Contact: Mr Piet Jaspaert, Ms Priscilla Moens, Ms Karin Laes

The scope of the Belgian self-regulatory code applies to all media.
The JEP handles complaints from members of the public (consumers, consumer organisations, public authorities, etc) but not complaints from the industry, i.e. competitors or other advertisers, which are the responsibility of the courts. Complaints are handled free of charge. Complaints must be submitted in writing, if possible together with a copy of the advertisement in question. An on-line complaints form in Dutch and French is available on the JEP website.
