7,000 candidates for Belgian police jobs

13:12 07/03/2016

Nine police academies across Belgium on Saturday held a recruitment information day for interested candidates. In total, about 7,000 people attended the event. The police academy in the Brussels municipality of Evere was the most popular, drawing 1,100 interested people, writes Brusselnieuws.

Belgium's police academies want to recruit 1,400 trainee police inspectors in 2016 and 2017, which is quite a challenge, according to police recruitment officer Nathalie Adam. “Only a limited number of candidates pass the selection tests. They are often not well enough informed or prepared. We use this information day to assist them,” she told the news website.

The nine police schools across the country welcomed a total of about 7,000 interested candidates. "Evere had the most success, with 1,100 visitors,” say the local police. It is not yet known how many students will be accepted into the police academy in Evere.
