555,000 visitors for 2015 Brussels Motor Show

00:03 26/01/2016

More than 555,000 people attended this year's European Motor Show in Brussels Expo, about 4% less than in 2014, according to a first estimate by automobile federation Febiac, which organised the 94th edition of the event. Febiac is pleased with the turnout, especially considering the event got off to a slow start on 12 January as Brussels remained under high terror alert.

Febiac faced a number of challenges organising this year's Motor Show, according to Brusselnieuws. "The terror threat forced us to take additional safety measures, and probably deterred some visitors from coming out to Brussels Expo. And that's unfortunate because security at the event was top notch thanks to increased safety measures at reception and the presence of dozens of extra stewards and security guards,” says Febiac director Pierre Lalmand.

"We hope that the success of this year's edition will help Brussels to restore its image,” Lalmand adds.
