1.1 million visitors for Docks Bruxsel shopping centre
Brussels' new shopping complex, Docks Bruxsel, has attracted more than a million visitors since it opened six weeks ago, centre management have claimed.
By Saturday, the total number of shoppers had reached 1.1 million, according to Docks Bruxsel, which has set a target of five million visitors next year and eight million by 2019.
It is claimed that 200,000 people had a look around the new canal-side complex in the first four days of opening, in October.
Brussels mayor Yvan Mayeur has described Docks Bruxel as "healthy competition" for stores in the city centre.
